IELTS Writing Task Topics 2022 with Answer #2 - The Mothers' Role

This time, I will share with you an example of an IELTS essay with topics and writing examples. I hope this is useful for those of you preparing to take the IELTS exam.

For this task, you will have to spend about 40 minutes.
Present a written argument to an educated reader who has no specific knowledge of the following subject:

"Mothers play a major role in raising children. But recently, both parents have been busy with career. Who do you think should be responsible for raising children now?"

Give your opinion in no less than 250 words.

Model Answer:

It is undeniable how important a role a mother plays in the upbringing of her children. But mothers, fed up with the modern economy, are leaving home for professional practice and asking, "Who looks after the kids now?" They raise the question. But in my opinion, all attempts to change the famous mother are in vain.

Observation of nature, scientific or otherwise, tells us that if there were a social role, becoming a mother is ideally possible by the woman who has given birth to the child, and that others may simply be nurses or guardians. The physical and psychological uniqueness of the mother means all other social institutions and all the greatness of science and civilization alone. She reinforces and never changes her role in raising children. It's not natural for someone else to try to play his role.

But, of course, opinions are contradictory. Modern science reflects the ancient practice of imitating nature and natural processes. Now, more than ever, people and their societies are constantly evolving against the tide of nature, and civilization is constantly evolving. This development has also affected the social and economic differences between men and women. Now women in the industry are producing on equal terms with men. So, the assumption that women should stay at home taking care of the household is no longer true.

While such human development is valid and should be morally supported, it is unethical to go against Mother Nature when we are clearly in the wrong position. Science has yet to find biological and psychosocial alternatives to natural motherhood. And while gender equality is good, it never means that the two poles of our species will blend. I do not think that science has ever tried to exclude sex because it is not practical. So it is not necessary for men and women, who until recently were so productive, to apply their values to achieve the common goal of civilization.

If a person or gender naturally has the potential to play a special and important role in society, it is incumbent on them to succeed. Therefore, I conclude that the mother is indispensable in the life of the child and therefore must take care of her child.
