As technology develops rapidly, forms of transportation or vehicles also evolve. Now people are talking about state-of-the-art electric cars or electric bicycles, while at the same time unique and once-existing traditional Indonesian vehicles are beginning to erode over time. Its convenience and efficiency have made modern transportation a place in people's hearts.

Vehicles or means of transportation are divided into three as land, sea and air vehicles. Now traditional vehicles have become something unique and interesting as they are becoming more and more rare and they are no longer the main means of transport as they used to be, but only in certain tourist destinations. 1. Delman

Delman is named after its inventor, Charles Theodore Deeleman. He was a Dutch lithographer and engineer during the Dutch East Indies period. Originally, wagons were used to transport goods from markets, villages or short distances.

2. Bajaj

 


You should be familiar with this traditional instrument, which has a distinctive sound. The dimensions of this three-wheeled vehicle are quite small and its movement is agile. Usually, bajaj can only accommodate 2 passengers. Bajaj is often an alternative choice, with the ability to overtake in traffic jams and reach narrow streets.

Bajaj hails from India and was first exported to Indonesia by PT Bajaj Auto since the 70's.

3. Bemo

 


Bemo is short for becak-motor. Similar to the Bajaj, the bemo is a three-wheeled vehicle. But the difference is that the bemo has a larger passenger capacity and reaches 6 adult passengers. Bemo began to be used as a means of transportation in Indonesia in early 1962.

Many bemo's have now been removed from the urban transport program. Bemo is too old and not safe anymore. Also, smoke causes pollution.

4. Becak

 


The becak is a traditional three-wheeled vehicle commonly found in Indonesia. Beckak can be driven by pedalling by the driver. Becak distance is not very far, so it is often used from alley to alley or vice versa.

Becak are made using a bike modified with a becak. This tub is then added with a seat and thus polished.

The normal capacity of the rickshaw is only two passengers. There are two types of rickshaws commonly used in Indonesia, i.e. the driver is in the back and the driver is in the side.

The Cidomo, or also commonly referred to as the Cimodok, is a traditional vehicle using horsepower typical of the island of Lombok and the Gili Islands. Judging from its physical appearance, the cidomo is similar to a wagon or carriage. Only wooden wheels are used on the wagon or wagon, while Cidomo uses used car wheels as driving wheels.

Cidomo vehicle capacity is only four people. Two in the front, two in the back. The disadvantage is that the speed of the cidomo is very slow and causes congestion in the city.

8. Getek
